Rich Meehan Trio

Richard Meehan is a composer and pianist working in a broad spectrum of styles and genres.

Collaborating with drummer Paul Glover, bassist James Newman and electronics wiz Jon Bierman, his latest project is Rich Meehan Trio

After 2 years of writing and rehearsals the band released of their debut EP ‘Suite Antique’ and 3 supporting singles in the Spring and Summer of 2022.

The five-movement work fuses a classical sensibility with a modern jazz style and notes of contemporary electronica. Movements such as the Carillon and Toccata showcase what the piano can do as an instrument, while movements such as the Prelude and Gymnopedie are all about atmosphere. The end result is at once familiar and strange, progressive, yet approachable and is some of the composer’s most personal work.

The band are currently working on material for a full album.
